Château Canon Chaigneau has a long & rich history...
We are nestled on the Néac plateau, within Lalande-de-Pomerol (one of the worlds' most prestigious wine producing regions), where some of the worlds delicious, sought after (and expensive!) bottles are produced.
Indeed, legendary names such as Château Petrus, Chateau Lafleur, Chateau L’Evangile, & Chateau le Pin are just a few minutes drive to the south.
Most recently, London born, British wine merchant Romik Arconian, & his partner, Marine Fontana - a trained agricultural engineer - have taken over the vineyard. They are supported by their two young children, a few close friends & the Marin family, who have operated the vineyard since the mid 1960's.
All of our wines are produced traditionally according to 'La lutte raisonnée' (literally 'the reasoned struggle') - using less chemicals than conventional growers, and by our incredible winemarker (& former maître de chai Cheval Blanc) Thierry Garnaud.
With ten 100-point vintages to his name, his savoir-faire and stature within Bordeaux are beyond question.
Our Grand Vin is 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet & 5% Pressac (More commonly known as Malbec, outside of Bordeaux), and we produce regular harvest of ~120,000 bottles per year
