Le Rosé and Le Blanc may have arrived slightly later than our more famous reds - but they were so worth waiting for,
and they’re all we've been drinking this summer!
Le Rosé is Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Pale, properly dry, with enough structure to hold up next to food rather than disappear alongside it.
Le Blanc is Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, citrus and white flowers up front, with the Semillon lending a little weight underneath.
Our Unique Terroir
Château Canon Chaigneau is located then in the eastern side of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation on the Néac plateau, and just to the north of the Pomerol Plateau, where the likes of Petrus, Lafleur, la Conseillante and Clinet can be found.
Indeed, the Romans recognised the greatness of our terroir, and winemaking began here almost 2000 years ago....
Our Legendary Winemaker
Thierry Garnaud is responsible for such 100 Point Legends as the '90, '98, '00, '03, '05, '06, '08, '10, '15 & '16. His savoir-faire and talent is undisputed!
Thierry lovingly crafts the Grand Vin and our newer, unoaked creation, Cuve 8a, wine with the same passion & alchemy that he had at Cheval Blanc the wines share the same ‘iron fist in velvet glove’ structure & sensuality!
His methods are clearly his own; but the premise is one of letting the vines and the grapes do the talking, with minimal intervention, and according to traditional methods.
